NAC Speaks at Solid Rock Church

On Saturday May 27 Solid Rock Church in Claremont hosted a dinner and discussion panel regarding the refugee and immigrant experience in the US.
There was a delicious Halal dinner provided by an NAC family from Syria, followed by the discussion panel. NAC president, Anne Thorward, spoke on
current issues facing refugees and immigrants and the various responsibilities of being a leader in compassion and care for those resettling in the United States. Lisa Rodriguez-Watson, national director of Missio Alliance also shared similar experiences from their organization in Washington, DC. The discussion was followed by a Q & A from community members, highlighting trauma informed care training and various opportunities to show up for newcomers in the area. NAC received interest in a variety of volunteer opportunities! Thank you to Solid Rock Church for this opportunity to share the refugee and immigrant experience.
