Donate Used Items

What if there was a way you could turn your thrift store donations into a shopping trip for a local family in need? Newcomers Access Center (NAC) has partnered with the ACTS Thrift Store on Foothill Blvd near Garey Ave in Pomona to make it happen.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Box up all the unwanted items taking up space in your house.
  2. Before donating, print out the NAC/ACTS flyer (scroll down for the flyer) and tape it onto each of your boxes.
  3. Go to the parking area in the rear of the store. Be sure your flyer is taped on your donations and tell them that the donation is on behalf of Newcomers Access Center.

When ACTS receives the donation, it gives NAC credit. NAC in turn gives vouchers to refugee and immigrant families to get clothing and household items.

The ACTS Thrift Store is located at 232 East Foothill Blvd in Pomona between Towne and Garey Avenues. For the latest hours, to make sure when donations are accepted, or to arrange a pick-up for a larger item, call 909-491-3199 or visit the website actsthrift.org. ACTS also has a Pasadena location at 1311 North Altadena Drive, Pasadena, CA, 91107. The Pasadena phone is 626-577-4477

In addition to our partnership with ACTS, for some high-value items that might be useful for our families, NAC can coordinate direct donations. If you have such an item that you would like to offer directly to our refugee and immigrant families, please contact us with a photo and description as well as the city the item is located in.
