Anne Thorward, President of Newcomers Access Center (NAC), accepted a check to NAC from the Claremont Kiwanis Club Foundation to assist with housing, driving lessons, diapers and whatever else is needed for immigrant families. NAC is most grateful for their generosity, as the funds from the grant will directly help our refugee and immigrant families. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. — Kiwanis defining statement, adopted October 2004.  The local club is instrumental in serving the community with a July 4th Pancake Breakfast, Holiday sales of Sees’ Candy, and sponsors of “Concerts in the Park” during the summer. NAC welcomes Kiwanis members to visit our office and meet families anytime.
